Elise Durbin

Elise (Souders) Durbin is a 2001 graduate of Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies with minors in Geography and Applied Public Policy.  At BSU, she was involved with the FYRE program both as a student and also for two years as a peer academic assistant, served as the vice-president and president for Habitat for Humanity, played on the women's soccer team for two years, studied abroad as a part of the Sinosummer program, and was a part of the Alpha Phi Sigma National Honor Society.  After graduation from BSU, Elise attended Minnesota State University-Mankato where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Urban Studies.  Elise is the Community Development Supervisor with the City of Minnetonka, where she has worked since 2002.  She is responsible for overseeing housing, redevelopment, economic development, and transit projects.  Elise is a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners, and was named the 2010 Spirit of Minnetonka winner (the City of Minnetonka's employee of the year award).  In her free time, Elise participates in various activities at her church, runs marathons, travels around the world and enjoys other outside activities.  Elise, her husband James, and her three-year old daughter Tabitha and one-year old son Jake and live in Bloomington.
