Initiated in 1972, Bemidji State graduates are selected annually by the Alumni & Foundation Board of Directors from nominations submitted by alumni, BSU faculty, staff and friends, and are honored as "Outstanding." The awards are presented at the Homecoming Honors Gala. The deadline for nominations is March 1.

Outstanding Alumni Award Nomination Form

Selection Criteria
Bemidji State University Outstanding Alumnus/Alumnae recipients are selected by the Alumni & Foundation Board of Directors for distinguished and professional achievement, and for bringing recognition to their alma mater through outstanding service and significant contributions to their community, state and nation. Nominees must be at least 10 years beyond graduation. Nominations by immediate family members will not be considered.
Please read before completing nomination: Since each question is evaluated and judged on a point scale, you must answer all questions completely. Nomination forms must be completed by the nominator. Attachments, including letters of recommendation, will be not be accepted. Please refrain from using acronyms, abbreviations and jargon. Applications are due March 1.
