I have lived in Bemidji for 42 years. Four of those years was at BSU acquiring a double major in business administration and education graduating in 1967. Prior to that, I was raised in NW Iowa graduating from Sheldon High School. 1968-71. I was in Michigan teaching business in Wyandotte. Since then I have owned & operated various businesses mostly in Bemidji and strongly involved with hospitality. Currently our flagship business is the Hampton Inn & Suites and Green Mill Bar & Restaurant on the south shore of Lake Bemidji. This property won the outstanding property of the year award, 2005, for the state of Minnesota.
I enjoy playing golf, fishing, outdoor activities, traveling and home projects. I maintain memberships to 1st Lutheran church, country club, Minnesota Innkeepers Association and various civic organizations. I also enjoy performances and activities at BSU. I have been married to my wife Joyce for 43 years and have two children. My daughter graduated from BSU and my son from Northwestern University in Evanston.
