BSU Foundation

Double your gift to BSU by giving before June 1

An anonymous donor is challenging BSU’s friends and alumni with a $50,000 matching gift to the Lakeside Fund, doubling the impact of each donor’s gift to the fund before June 30.

The Lakeside Fund supports the greatest needs of the university on an annual basis. It provides support for student scholarships and academic programs that have made BSU one of the Midwest region’s top universities, according to U.S. News and World Report.

The challenge applies a 1:1 match to all Lakeside Fund gifts and pledges made between March 10 and June 30, up to a total of $50,000.

"This is an incredible opportunity for BSU’s friends and alumni to make a tremendous impact on the lives of our students," said Rob Bollinger, Executive Director for University Advancement. "We are so grateful for the generosity of this anonymous donor – and for the generosity of the many donors who will step up and meet this challenge."

An annual gift to the Lakeside Fund not only benefits BSU’s students, but also helps improve the university’s U.S. News and World Report college ranking since the number of alumni donors is one of criteria used to determine the ranking.  For the seventh consecutive year, Bemidji State University finds itself among the Midwest region’s best colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s annual review of America’s Best Colleges.

Fulfillments of previously committed pledges do not count toward the challenge, and matching corporate or foundation gifts are not eligible. There is no minimum or maximum; all gifts will be matched.

Gifts can be made at BSU’s online giving page or by calling Lisa Hofstad, Director of Annual giving at 218-755-2872 or
