Mr. Gandrud earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management and accounting from Bemidji State College in 1969 and an MBA degree in management from Golden Gate University in 1985. Mr. Gandrud began his career with the Federal Government in June 1969 as an auditor with the U. S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). During the next 10 years with the GAO, he worked four years with the Chicago Regional Office (St. Paul Sub-office), four years with the Far East Branch (Honolulu), and two years at GAO Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The NASA Office of Inspector General hired him in July 1979 as an audit manager at the Ames Research Center (ARC), Moffett Field, California. He is currently serving as an Associate Program Director at NASA. Mr. Gandrud recently led a multi-phase, government-wide review of the nation's critical infrastructure protection program. Twenty-three federal agencies participated in the review, resulting in more than 200 recommendations made to improve the government's critical infrastructure protection programs. In recognition of his leadership skills he received the "Award for Excellence" from the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency. His other awards include Exceptional Performance, Superior accomplishment, and Special Achievement Awards. Mr. Ganrud is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Internal Auditor. He serves as a Governor on the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors?San Jose Chapter, and Supervisory Committee member of the Golden Bay Federal Credit Union. Mr. Gandrud resides with his wife Margaret and son Chris in Sunnyvale, California.
