Jeff Wallin
Bemidji State University Graduate 1970
Jeff Wallin graduated from Bemidji State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music and a Teacher Certification. Following graduation, Jeff served for eight years in the US Navy as a Naval Officer and pilot with a tour in Vietnam. In 1978, Jeff resigned his regular Navy commission and affiliated with the Naval Reserve as an anti-submarine warfare pilot, reaching the rank of Captain. Within the Naval Reserve, he was a squadron Commanding Officer and was subsequently selected as the Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California. Jeff retired from the Naval Reserve in 1996 having received numerous awards including the Meritorious Service, Navy Commendation and Vietnam Service Medals, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, a Meritorious Unit Citation, the Naval Helicopter Association Pilot of the Year award and a number of combat strike flight air medals. After leaving active naval service in 1978, Jeff began a successful career in domestic and international marketing and business development with products related to the aerospace industry. In 1993, Jeff transitioned into the telecommunications industry first with General Instrument, later acquired by Motorola, then with Britain?s Snell & Wilcox, Ltd, where he was appointed to the position of managing all of the "Americas" business with their broadcast electronics products. In 1996, Jeff became the President and CEO of TV/COM International, Inc. After twenty years in international technology business development, Jeff founded the SDMC Inc. consulting company in 1999, a business that supports multimedia systems integration and communication technologies. He is currently the President and CEO of Patriot Scientific Corporation in San Diego. In addition to his military and career experiences, Jeff has served on numerous non-profit boards in the greater San Diego area, is a member of the San Diego Master Chorale, a judge for the Scripps Community Theater, the Past President and former seven year board member of the BSU Alumni Association and has participated in countless other community and professional service projects. Jeff and his wife, Christel, live in San Diego, California.
