Bemidji State University Graduate 1985 & 1992A '85 & '93 BSU graduate, Yvonne Wilson has been a First Grade Teacher in the Deer River School System since 1985. In 1989 Ms. Wilson was selected as Christa McAuliffe Fellow by the Christa McAuliffe Institute for Educational Pioneering sponsored by the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education. In 1989 Wilson was selected as the Outstanding American Indian Teacher of the Year by the Minnesota Indian Education Association. Ms. Wilson is currently serving her 4th term on the Minnesota Indian Education Association Board of Directors. In 1995, she received the Bemidji State University "Teacher of the Year Hall of Fame" award.
