Dennis Peterson
Bemidji State University Graduate 1979
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Bemidji State University in 1979, Dennis Peterson taught Art in Waconia, MN. Since 1981 he has taught 7th - 12th grade art at Deer River Schools. In 1988 Dennis was named "Minnesota Secondary Art Teacher of the Year" and in 1989 he was named a "Christa McAuliffe Fellow" at the Christa McAuliffe Institute for Educational Pioneering at Stanford University in California. In 1993, he was honored the "Visual Arts Teacher of the Year Honoree" at the "Walt Disney Salutes the American Teacher Awards Show" at Walt Disney World. In 1995 he received the Bemidji State University "Teacher of the Year Hall of Fame" award.
