Career and Professional Achievements

  • Retired teacher from the Bemidji School District.
  • Received Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Education from BSU.
  • Taught third and sixth grades at the Coleraine School District.
  • Taught and served as Assistant Principal in the Bloomington School District.
  • Served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Education Association.
  • Served as President for the MEA Uniserv Governance Board.
  • Served as Chairperson for the Evaluation Task Force and the Governmental Relations Council ? Bemidji Education Association.
  • Served as President, Research Chair, Legislation Chair, Chairperson, Secretary, and Member for the Delta Kappa Gamma, Mu Chapter.
  • Member of the MN Association for Middle Level Educators.
  • Member of Phi Delta Kappa.

Community Service

  • Involved in the DFL in both Hubbard and Beltrami counties.
  • Member of the League of Women Voters.
  • Fundraiser for Camp Courage in Hubbard County.
  • Supporter of the Beltrami County Humane Society the Food Shelf.

Outstanding Service to Bemidji State University

  • Supporter of Beaver Pride and the BSU Foundation.
  • Coordinator of the North Country Reading Colloquium seminar at BSU.

  • Awarded the Ashland Oil Golden Apple Award.
  • Named Bemidji?s Teacher of the Year in 1992.
  • Nominated for the Ashland Oil Teacher Achievement Award in 1988.
  • Awarded the MEA?s Women?s Leadership Award in 1995.
