Carl Baer III

Carl Baer (1972) received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1975 and currently practices law as an attorney in Bemidji. He is a member and former president of the Beltrami County Bar Association, member and former president of the 14th District Bar Association and is a member of the Minnesota and American Trial Lawyers Association and the Minnesota and American Bar Associations. Baer is a registered arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association, is a Supreme Court Training Certified Mediator, is on the Board of Visitors with the University of Minnesota School of Law and is Secretary of the Minnesota State Board of Law Examiners. He was the 1992 recipient of the Legal Services "Advocacy Achievement Award" recognizing outstanding legal work making a difference to the disadvantaged. Baer was also selected by the American Research Corporation as one of Minnesota's "leading attorneys" and was also designated by the Minnesota publication "Law and Politics" as one of Minnesota's "super lawyers". In addition to being very active in the Bemidji community, he currently serves as President of the Bemidji State University Foundation. In his nomination of Carl Baer for the Outstanding Alumni Award, John Borg, a 1981 recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award, stated that John "has been a tremendous good-will ambassador for BSU and the city of Bemidji".
