Career and Professional Achievements

  • Faculty member, Black Hills State University, Spearfish, S.D., for 18 years.
  • Faculty member, Pacific University, Oregon, WA, for 25 years.
  • Doctor of Education degree, University of Northern Colorado.
  • Advisor to Registrants of Local Board No. 4, State of Oregon

Personal Achievements/Awards

  • Author of three books, several magazine articles, two-prize-winning essays, and an autobiography of 80,000 words.
  • Has been honored by the Leland D. Case Historical Society for his non-fiction contributions to the history and knowledge of western South Dakota and the West.
  • Two U.S. presidents, Carter and Reagan, complimented him on his achievements.
  • Written in "Who's Who," and in the "Dictionary of International Biographies," published in Cambridge, England.
  • A certificate from the president of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, expressive of gratitude for the valuable service to the nation and the Selective Service System in the administration of the Universal Military Training and Service Act, amended in 1959.
