  • Graduate work in Geography, University of Washington-Seattle, 1941-1942.
  • Teacher, one-room rural school for three years; high school 4 years.
  • U.S. Army, retired as a major, 20 years.
  • Director, YMCA Vocational school, Washington D.C.
  • Awarded Scholarship from BSU to Peabody College ? Vanderbilt.

Community Service

  • Girl Scout Leader.
  • Playground Director.
  • American Association University Women.
  • World Affairs Council.
  • Member Civic Organizations.

Outstanding Service to Bemidji State University

  • Established the Margaret H. Harlow Ceramic teaching Collection for Bemidji State University.
  • Established annual scholarship award, given to students who have made the most outstanding progress in Ceramics.
  • Provided, selected pieces?books, magazines, and resource materials for Ceramic Department.

Personal Achievements/Awards

  • First female Army officer assigned to Strategic Intelligence School. Assigned as military intelligence officer. Served New Guinea, Philippines, Great Britain.
  • USA Commendation Medal.
  • Women?s Army Corps Service Medal.

Humanitarian Service

  • Helped raise funds for Art Museums at various libraries.
