- First Bemidji State graduate with an English major.
- Helped develop, at various times, courses of study for Bemidji High School English Department.
- Worked on philosophy of education.
- Developed informative materials for State Department of Education.
- Represented Bemidji at a number of English workshops.
- Co-speaker at State MEA Convention on "Creative Writings".
Community Service
- Volunteer for American Cancer and American Heart Association Drives.
- Member of Bemidji Public Library foundation and Friends of Bemidji Public Library.
- Member of Crime Stoppers and Neighborhood Watch.
- Member of Beltrami Historical Society.
- Member of Beltrami County, Minnesota and National Humane Society.

- Served as Alumni Honor Guard for many BSU commencements.
