Career and Professional Achievements

  • First Bemidji State graduate with an English major.
  • Helped develop, at various times, courses of study for Bemidji High School English Department.
  • Worked on philosophy of education.
  • Developed informative materials for State Department of Education.
  • Represented Bemidji at a number of English workshops.
  • Co-speaker at State MEA Convention on "Creative Writings".

Community Service

  • Volunteer for American Cancer and American Heart Association Drives.
  • Member of Bemidji Public Library foundation and Friends of Bemidji Public Library.
  • Member of Crime Stoppers and Neighborhood Watch.
  • Member of Beltrami Historical Society.
  • Member of Beltrami County, Minnesota and National Humane Society.

Outstanding Service to Bemidji State University

  • Served as Alumni Honor Guard for many BSU commencements.

Personal Achievements/Awards

  • Beltrami Teacher of the Year.
  • Secondary Teacher Award at Minnesota State Fair, 1977.
  • High School Annual dedication, 1979.
  • Minnesota Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma International Award, 1979.

Humanitarian Service

  • Given various items to those who were unfortunate to have been victims of fire, etc.
  • Donated to those who were stricken with debilitative diseases.
