- Teacher, Janesville and Stillwater, MN, for nine years.
- Assistant Commissioner of Education, for ten years.
- Director of Indian Education, for eight years.
- Professor, Harvard University, for one year.
- Founder and President, National Indian Education.
- Established Indian education program for stat of MN, which became model for United States, still the correspondence for current Indian education programs.
- President and CEO, Antell Companies, and Indian owned insurance agency and consulting firm.
Community Service
- Appointed by three U.S. presidents (Nixon, Ford, Carter) to National Advisory Committee on Indian Education, served as Chair for three years.
- Member, Citizens Parole Board, 1970-1973.
Outstanding Service to Bemidji State University
- Alumni Board Search for new president of BSU.
- Worked with BSU in developing plans for American Indian Resource Center.
Personal Achievements/Awards
- Indian Administrator of the Year award, 1992.
- Bush Fellow, 1971.
- NDEA Fellow, 1965 and 1968.
- Has written extensively on Indian Education.
- Has lectured in U.S., Canada, and Europe on Indian History, Education, and Culture.
- Worked for senators Walter Mondale and Ted Kennedy in writing the Indian Education Act of 1972.
Humanitarian Service
- Served on numerous boards on behalf of American Indians in the U.S. and MN.
- Served as evaluator of U.S. Defense Schools in Europe.
